Rouse in the dialogs. For a beginning philosophy student you can't really do any better than this excellent translation done in (fairly) modern english. (There's versions|About the Author|Plato (c. 427–347 b.c.) founded the Academy in Athens, the prototype of all Western universities, and wrote more than twenty philosophical dialogues.||W.H.D.
